Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant – Physician Services
Location: North Bergen, NJ 07047
Contract Duration: 4+ Months
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (5x8 hour shifts)

• No weekends, holidays, or on-call

• Float required within the same Multi-Specialty Department

Pay Rate: $20–$21 per hour

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a dynamic multi-specialty practice. This role involves providing both clinical and administrative support under the supervision of a licensed nurse or physician. The ideal candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms, instruments, and supplies

• Assist patients during physician visits and clinical exams

• Obtain and record vital signs accurately

• Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment

• Perform EKGs, PFTs, audiometry, Titmus tests, UDS, BAT, phlebotomy, and lab testing (as trained and evaluated)

• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation

• Support billing and collection procedures

• Utilize office software to manage scheduling and patient information

• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines

• Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, adapting communication to meet age, language, and cultural needs

• Assist with various administrative tasks and projects as assigned

• Comply with organizational standards and behavioral expectations

• Lift minimum of 5 lbs., push/pull 10 lbs., and stand for at least 6 hours daily

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to provide compassionate care to diverse populations

• Comfortable with fast-paced, high-volume environments

• Proficient in computer and data entry systems

Certifications (Required):

• Active AHA BLS Certification

• One of the following active medical assistant credentials:

  • CMA – National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

  • CMA – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

  • CMA – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

  • RMA – American Medical Technologists (AMT)

  • RMA – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)

  • NCMA – National Certification Medical Association

  • AMCA – American Medical Certification Association
