Pay Range: $22–$24 per hour (W2)

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• 40 hours per week
• No weekends
• Estimated end date: 12/31/2025 (possibility of extension or conversion)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant II to provide clinical and administrative support in a busy cardiology department. This is a local-only position covering a leave of absence, with potential for extension or hire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and patient charts.
• Assist with patient flow and ensure smooth clinic operations.
• Take vital signs, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication verifications.
• Assist with exams, lab tests, and minor procedures.
• May help with medication renewals and administration (vaccines, IM, subcutaneous injections) under provider orders.
• Manage patient scheduling, calls, and care coordination (scheduling tests, surgeries, follow-ups).
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain supply inventory, clean exam rooms, and sterilize instruments.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and institutional compliance standards.
• Participate in quality improvement and ongoing training.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• BLS certification required (must include skills assessment).
• 2–3 years of recent Medical Assistant experience required.
• MA certification preferred but not required.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
