Job Title: Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Shift: Days (5 x 8.5-hour shifts)
Pay Rate: $55 – $59/hour
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a high-performing surgical team for a 13-week contract assignment. The OR RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through professional nursing practice and collaboration with the surgical team.
Provide direct nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures.
Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment, instruments, and sterile supplies.
Ensure proper aseptic technique and maintain a sterile field throughout procedures.
Monitor patient condition, including vital signs and responses to anesthesia.
Accurately document all aspects of patient care according to facility policies and procedures.
Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other team members.
Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and postoperative care when needed.
Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
Active and unrestricted New York State RN license.
BLS certification (current and eligible for renewal if necessary).
Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience.
Proficiency in a variety of surgical specialties, including general, orthopedic, trauma, neuro, and robotics.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
