Job Title: Power BI Fabric Developer

Location: Jersey City, NJ 07302 (Hybrid – Onsite 1 Day/Week)

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Schedule:

Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST

Pay Rate:

Up to $74/hr


Position Overview:

We are looking for a Power BI Fabric Developer to design, develop, and support advanced business intelligence solutions. This role blends deep technical expertise with strong business communication skills to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance data workflows and analytics.


Key Responsibilities:

Power BI Architecture & Development

  • Design and implement complete Power BI solutions including:

    • Data ingestion using Fabric Pipelines and OneLake

    • Semantic model optimization

    • Development of DAX calculations and measures

    • UX-optimized report/dashboard creation

  • Enforce governance standards, naming conventions, and version control

  • Manage certified datasets, dataflows, and workspace-level security

Microsoft Fabric Engineering

  • Build and manage solutions using:

    • Direct Lake, Lakehouses, and OneLake

    • Data Pipelines and Notebooks

  • Automate and orchestrate data workflows for real-time and batch analytics

Power Automate & Workflow Automation

  • Design and maintain Power Automate flows for:

    • Scheduled BI report refreshes

    • Alerts and notifications

    • Integration with third-party APIs and systems

    • Process automation to enhance auditability and efficiency

Data Transformation & Scripting

  • Use Power Query (M language) for:

    • Advanced data shaping and cleaning

    • Report deployment and validation

    • Integration with Azure services and REST APIs

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams

  • Create and maintain documentation, technical specifications, and user guides


Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Power BI development and architecture

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric components

  • Strong scripting and data transformation skills (Power Query/M, DAX, etc.)

  • Solid understanding of Power Automate and process automation

  • Effective communicator with strong documentation practices


Education:

Bachelor’s degree required
