Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant – Physician Services (Contract)
Location: Cliffside Park, NJ
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
Weekly Hours: 40 hours
A well-established outpatient medical facility in Cliffside Park, NJ is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical and clerical operations in a busy physician services setting. The CMA will work under the supervision of a licensed provider or nurse, providing direct patient care and administrative assistance.
Prepare exam/treatment rooms and ensure proper setup of equipment and supplies.
Assist patients during provider visits and clinical procedures.
Measure and record patient vital signs in the medical record.
Perform diagnostic tests such as EKGs, PFTs, audiometry, and Titmus tests after evaluation.
Conduct UDS, BAT, phlebotomy, and other lab tests as appropriate.
Accurately document in patient records and maintain confidentiality.
Support billing and collections processes when necessary.
Utilize computer systems to maintain clinical documentation and office organization.
Communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse patient populations.
Lift minimum 5 lbs., push/pull minimum 10 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours per day.
Adapt care based on patient-specific needs (language, age, disability, cultural background).
Other related tasks as assigned by department leadership.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
Competency with electronic health records and standard medical office software.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Preferred Education:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Required Certifications (one of the following):
AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
