Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Location: North Bergen, NJ
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (8 hours/day)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Summary:

A leading healthcare facility in North Bergen, NJ is seeking a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist for a full-time travel contract. The technologist will be responsible for conducting diagnostic ultrasound examinations using high-frequency sound waves, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality ultrasound exams including abdominal, OB/GYN, and vascular studies.

  • Execute portable and deep abdominal studies including color-flow and biopsy assistance as needed.

  • Prepare and explain procedures to patients and properly position them for imaging.

  • Evaluate image quality and ensure accurate representation of anatomical findings.

  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and related computer systems (e.g., EPIC, TeleTracking).

  • Archive and retrieve imaging records and document patient data accurately.

  • Follow all safety, infection control, and emergency protocols.

  • Assist in training and orienting staff or students as assigned.

  • Maintain exam room cleanliness and manage inventory of supplies.

  • Greet patients using AIDET communication standards.

  • Physically capable of lifting 25 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program (2 years Allied Health or equivalent training).

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).

  • BLS/CPR certification required.

  • Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and ultrasound physics.

  • Experience using major ultrasound systems and EMR platforms.

  • Understanding of infection control and emergency protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience.

  • Familiarity with both inpatient and outpatient workflows.
