Job Title: CT Scan Technologist – Contract Position

Position Details:

  • Location : Neptune, NJ 07754
  • Schedule:
  • 40 hours per week
  • 4 x 10-hour shifts (2:00 PM – 12:30 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • One holiday shift required during contract
  • No on-call duties

Job Summary:

The CT Scan Technologist will perform a range of computer tomography procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images, including three-dimensional reconstructions. This role also assists in interventional and therapeutic procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and safety throughout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced and complex CT imaging procedures
  • Review and document patient clinical history accurately into PACS
  • Evaluate and prepare patients for contrast procedures; administer contrast media as prescribed
  • Verify prescriptions and communicate with radiologists or referring physicians as needed
  • Coordinate insurance authorizations and ensure documentation compliance
  • Manage external study imports and ensure availability in imaging systems
  • Provide radiology images and reports to patients and requesting providers
  • Assess image quality and ensure diagnostic standards are met
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, and clinical teams
  • Perform IV procedures and monitor patients for adverse reactions
  • Adhere to organizational policies and professional standards
  • Support patient-centered care tailored to individual cultural and physical needs
  • Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods
  • Participate in rotating weekend and holiday schedules

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Solid foundation in human anatomy, physiology, and imaging positioning
  • Proficiency with CT imaging systems and PACS software
  • Active participation in CEU activities
  • Certification in BLS (American Heart Association) within 3 months of hire
  • Must obtain ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • 6+ months of prior CT experience preferred
  • Familiarity with EPIC and other hospital systems (HIS/RIS)

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License
  • ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license
  • BLS certification (AHA)
  • Preferred: ARRT Certified R.T. (CT)
