Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a busy outpatient team in Syracuse, NY. This contract position is ideal for an experienced nurse with a strong clinical background and administrative capabilities. The role offers a consistent weekday schedule and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient-centered care in an outpatient setting.
Provide hands-on clinical care and support with minimal supervision
Greet and prepare patients for exams and procedures; escort them to and from exam rooms
Assist physicians during medical exams and procedures such as pap smears and injections
Accurately record vital signs and other clinical information
Set up procedure trays and ensure exam rooms are maintained in a clean and organized manner
Administer approved treatments and injections under RN or provider supervision
Schedule patient appointments and assist with front-desk administrative tasks
Handle insurance authorization processes (e.g., for physical therapy, MRIs, CTs, surgeries)
Obtain referrals and ensure patient charts and records are updated and organized
Use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to input, retrieve, and update patient information
Monitor and report patient responses to treatments and participate in care planning
Active LPN license in the state of New York
Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient or ambulatory setting
Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively within a healthcare team
Knowledge of insurance verification and authorization procedures preferred
