Job Summary:
A well-established organization in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an experienced Storage and Virtualization Engineer for a 12-month contract. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in enterprise storage, hyper-converged infrastructure, and VMware Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) technologies. This position requires a strong technical background, project management skills, and the ability to support complex IT environments while collaborating across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of storage, server, and hyper-converged infrastructure.

  • Design and implement enterprise-grade VMware SDDC and related virtualization technologies.

  • Provide architectural guidance for IT solutions based on business and technical requirements.

  • Oversee and document project scopes, schedules, and deliverables while coordinating with stakeholders.

  • Ensure application and infrastructure alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.

  • Conduct infrastructure assessments and design phased migration strategies for complex environments.

  • Create and maintain architecture documentation including enterprise, data, and security components.

  • Provide performance monitoring, capacity planning, and proactive troubleshooting support.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in:

    • Hyper-converged compute environments and enterprise storage architecture.

    • Designing, implementing, and administering solutions using platforms such as VxRail alternatives, vSAN, ScaleIO alternatives, Pure Storage, and Rubrik.

    • VMware SDDC stack and tools.

    • Scripting with PowerShell, Azure ARM templates, and Azure CLI.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Proven experience in delivering IT solutions in complex, heterogeneous environments.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to present technical concepts clearly at all organizational levels.

  • Prior experience working on education sector projects is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with Cisco ACI and application-level provisioning technologies is a plus.
