Job Title: Registered Nurse – Critical Care (Night Shift)

An established acute care facility in Syracuse, NY is seeking highly qualified Registered Nurses to join its Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a night shift contract assignment. This high-acuity role requires clinical independence, adaptability, and experience working in trauma-level environments. Candidates must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced critical care setting with minimal orientation.
Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU
Conduct comprehensive assessments and respond to changes in patient condition promptly
Administer medications and operate life-support equipment safely and effectively
Accurately document patient care and updates in EPIC EMR
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and support teams to ensure optimal outcomes
Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory standards
Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to unit peers as needed
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
Minimum of 1.5 years of recent ICU experience in an acute care hospital (within the last 2 years)
BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Previous experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center
Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records
Background in Emergency Department (ED) nursing
Strong interpersonal, clinical assessment, and communication skills
