Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join the NICU/PICU team within a pediatric care environment. This day shift position requires advanced clinical skills and extensive experience in neonatal and pediatric respiratory care. The role includes working in a dynamic, high-acuity setting where collaboration and precision are essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized respiratory therapy to neonatal and pediatric patients in intensive care units (NICU and PICU).

  • Administer treatments including mechanical ventilation, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy.

  • Respond to emergency situations and assist in neonatal resuscitations.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to plan and execute patient care.

  • Perform regular assessments, adjust respiratory therapy plans, and document treatment responses accurately.

  • Participate in limited on-call rotation (three weekday calls every 6 weeks from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM).


Required Qualifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) licensed in the state of South Carolina.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Children’s Hospital NICU and PICU setting – required.

  • Valid and current certifications:

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)

    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

  • Strong knowledge of pediatric and neonatal respiratory conditions and interventions.

  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.


Schedule Details:

  • 3x12-Hour Day Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), 36 hours/week

  • Includes every other weekend

  • On-call: 3 weekday calls per 6-week period (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
