Job Title: Travel Case Manager – LPN/RN (Emergency Department)

Duration: 13 Weeks | Contract
Shift: 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM or 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM
Schedule: 40 hours/week

Compensation:

  • Taxable: $30/hour | $1,125/week

  • Stipend: $1,561/week

  • Total Compensation: $71.63/hour | $2,686/week

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Travel Emergency Department Case Manager (LPN or RN) for a contract assignment in Hyannis, MA. This role is essential in managing patient care coordination, discharge planning, and utilization review in a busy emergency setting. Ideal candidates are proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced in both clinical care and insurance protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily screenings for discharge planning needs

  • Complete and update InterQual® assessments

  • Validate inpatient vs. observation status

  • Coordinate with insurers for authorizations and documentation

  • Issue payer notices and support appeal processes

  • Collaborate with care teams to develop safe discharge plans

  • Document all activities accurately in the EHR

  • Participate in ED rounds and facilitate timely transfers

  • Advocate for patients and ensure continuity of care

  • Stay updated on case management protocols and participate in team initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN)

  • Active Massachusetts nursing license (LPN or RN)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

  • Case Management Certification (CCM, CPUR, or CPUM) preferred

  • At least 3 years of recent acute care experience

  • Minimum 2 years in case management, discharge planning, or utilization review

  • Proficient with InterQual® or similar tools

  • Strong communication, organizational, and EHR skills
