Job Title: Registered Nurse- Labor & Delivery/Post- Partum
Location: 
Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 ( Travel contract  Candidates within 75 miles of facility are not accepted)
Shift: 
Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Duration: 13 Weeks (with high potential for extension)

Pay: $ 2,671.92 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring mothers, newborns, and postpartum patients.
  • Monitor fetal heart rates, uterine contractions, and maternal vital signs, interpreting data and intervening as needed.
  • Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including emergency situations (e.g., hemorrhage, fetal distress).
  • Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge planning.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and pain management per physician orders.
  • Collaborate with OB/GYNs, midwives, neonatologists, and ancillary staff to ensure coordinated care.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR).

Required Skills:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred (required for some facilities).
  • AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric & Neonatal Nurses) fetal monitoring certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent L&D, postpartum, or Mother-Baby unit experience (new grads may be considered for residency programs).
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to handle high-stress situations.
  • Excellent communication and patient advocacy skills.

Required Certifications and Licensure:

Active RN License: NY

BLS & ACLS : Current certifications from the AHA.

Preferred: CCRN or PCCN certification (if you have it).
