Position Title: Radiologic Technologist – Mammography
Location: Hyannis, MA 02601
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)
Pay Rate: $70 – $72/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Start times vary: 7:00 AM, 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM)
Rotating Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; adjusted weekday hours to accommodate Saturday shifts

Position Summary

Seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist with mammography experience to perform diagnostic breast imaging and bone density scans in accordance with quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. The role includes preparing rooms, operating advanced imaging equipment, and providing compassionate care to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform 2D and 3D mammography and stereotactic procedures.

  • Conduct bone density (DEXA) exams, including spine, hip, and forearm imaging.

  • Ensure compliance with MQSA and ACR guidelines through regular QA and QC checks.

  • Review physician orders, patient history, and prior reports to ensure appropriate imaging.

  • Educate patients on procedures, results timelines, and care instructions.

  • Monitor and maintain imaging equipment and perform troubleshooting as needed.

  • Properly manage digital imaging data (PACS), including CD burning and linking exams.

  • Maintain accurate patient records, QC documentation, and billing information.

  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurse practitioners, and other clinical staff for patient workups.

  • Comply with infection control, safety, and fire plan procedures.

  • Participate in ongoing education and certification maintenance per ARRT and state requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Graduate of a JCERT-accredited Radiography Program.

  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology and Mammography (required).

  • Active Massachusetts license for Radiology and Mammography.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required).

  • Proficient in 3D mammography.

  • Experience in DEXA scanning preferred; must become proficient within 6 months.

  • Knowledge of quality control procedures, image evaluation, and data management systems.

Preferred

  • ARRT Advanced Certification in Bone Densitometry (a plus).

  • Prior experience in outpatient and multi-site imaging environments.
