Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Writer III to support IT documentation efforts for a leading organization in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of IT environments and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation. This role involves close collaboration with technical teams and senior stakeholders to develop high-quality documentation, policies, procedures, and performance reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain user guides, technical manuals, and process documentation for IT systems and operations.

  • Coordinate the development and publication of technical articles, manuals, reports, and brochures.

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to support documentation accuracy and completeness.

  • Work closely with IT staff to document environments, policies, procedures, and operational plans.

  • Present policy and procedure updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Develop customer-centric performance metrics and support process improvement initiatives through data visualization and analysis.

  • Prepare written responses to inquiries, reports, surveys, and other data-related requests.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience composing, reviewing, and editing technical documents, policy manuals, procedures, and reports.

  • 8 years of experience researching, developing, and organizing technical and policy information.

  • 8 years of experience consulting with technical teams to develop accurate and effective documentation.

  • 6 years of experience responding to official correspondence, reports, and stakeholder requests.

  • 6 years of experience presenting documentation and updates to upper management and executive-level stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of technical writing experience in the public sector.

  • 5 years of experience with IT policy and procedure development.
