Job Title: MRI Technologist – Saturday & Sunday Day Shifts
Location: New York, NY 10029
Duration: 6-Month Contract (Extendable)
Shift: Saturdays & Sundays, 12:00 PM – 8:00 AM (7.5 hours/day, 15 hours/week)

Pay Rate: $65/hour

Job Summary:

A leading healthcare facility in New York City is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a weekend-only contract role. This position requires strong technical proficiency, a deep understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, and a commitment to patient care and safety.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (HSD)

Skills & Experience:

  • At least 2 years of MRI technologist experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and MRI physics.

  • Excellent technical imaging skills and attention to detail.

Certifications Required:

  • Valid New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology

  • ARRT (MRI) Certification

  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) Certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality MRI imaging procedures.

  • Position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results.

  • Educate patients about procedures, safety protocols, and expectations.

  • Review and evaluate safety questionnaires before scanning.

  • Ensure accurate labeling and timely transfer of images to PACS.

  • Maintain and update patient records and tracking systems (IDX/RIS).

  • Keep MRI room clean and stocked; ensure safety standards are upheld.

  • Scan and upload patient-related documentation.

  • Schedule and document exams in IDX as needed.

  • Assist physicians during procedures and call for inpatients when required.

  • Notify appropriate personnel regarding equipment maintenance or repairs.

  • Perform clerical duties as needed in the absence of support staff.

  • Follow infection control and MRI safety protocols diligently.

  • Participate in training sessions and professional development activities.
