A healthcare facility in North Bergen, NJ is seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist to join their team in a breast imaging center. The technologist will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist medical staff in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental protocols.
Prepare and position patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety throughout.
Operate ultrasound equipment and ensure images meet quality standards.
Assist with specialized procedures, including biopsies and color-flow studies.
Perform portable exams and assist physicians during procedures when required.
Maintain accurate patient records and image archives using EMR systems (e.g., EPIC, TeleTracking).
Clean, calibrate, and maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies.
Provide guidance to students or new staff when needed.
Adhere to hospital policies, safety regulations, and infection control standards.
Participate in occasional on-call duties as per departmental policy.
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required.
Minimum of 2 years of training in Allied Health or related college coursework.
BLS (CPR) certification.
Solid understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and ultrasound operation.
Ability to lift 25 lbs., push/pull 50 lbs., and stand for 6+ hours per shift.
At least 1 year of clinical experience in ultrasound imaging.
Proficient in ultrasound image acquisition and basic interpretation.
Knowledge of infection control procedures, emergency protocols, and patient care standards.
Experience using EMR systems (especially EPIC) and digital imaging archiving.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to ongoing education and maintaining CEU credits.
