We are seeking a certified Athletic Trainer to support a secondary school as part of a 13-week travel assignment. This role involves working directly with student-athletes, coaches, and school administrators to provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for supporting the physical health and safety of student-athletes in a dynamic school sports environment.
Deliver athletic training services to student-athletes at assigned secondary schools
Evaluate and treat athletic injuries under physician guidelines and best practices
Collaborate with coaches and school staff to implement injury prevention programs
Document assessments, treatments, and progress notes accurately and timely
Monitor and manage rehabilitation programs for injured student-athletes
Act as liaison between school, parents, physicians, and physical therapy team
Respond to acute injuries during practice and games, providing first aid or further triage
Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure readiness for practices and events
Provide education to athletes on topics such as hydration, conditioning, and injury prevention
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field
BOC (Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer) certified
NCBATE (North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners) licensed
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
Previous experience in secondary school or sports medicine outreach strongly preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
