  • Shift options: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Every third weekend required
  • No holidays, no on-call, no float

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team in New Jersey. This role focuses on the review and preparation of chemotherapy protocols and involves active participation in acute care operations. As a pharmacist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, monitoring patient therapies, and maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations. Candidates with hands-on experience in chemotherapy review and USP 800 preparation environments are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, verify, and dispense medication orders in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and hospital policies
  • Monitor and adjust drug therapy regimens for interactions, contraindications, and patient-specific factors
  • Prepare IV admixtures, TPN, and chemotherapy solutions using aseptic techniques
  • Accurately interpret and verify chemotherapy protocols for proper dosing and sequencing
  • Utilize closed-system transfer devices in USP 800-compliant environments for hazardous drug preparation
  • Conduct medication storage inspections and maintain emergency medication supplies
  • Supervise and guide pharmacy technicians and support staff
  • Document interventions and contribute to multidisciplinary patient care discussions
  • Ensure safe medication practices and uphold infection control policies

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid New Jersey Pharmacist License
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with at least a BS in Pharmacy
  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital pharmacy experience
  • Hands-on experience with chemotherapy review and preparation
  • Proficient in USP 800 safety protocols and use of closed-system transfer devices
  • Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of acute care pharmacy experience (Highly Preferred)
  • Board Certification (BCPS, BCOP, or other relevant)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with unit dose systems, aseptic compounding, and relevant pharmacy technologies
