Job Overview:

A leading public sector organization in Harrisburg, PA, is seeking a skilled System Administrator for a short-term engagement with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and support for hosted applications and services across multiple infrastructure environments, including Managed Services, Co-Location, Cloud, and Data Centers. This role involves client interaction, technical documentation, process improvement, and coordination with various internal IT teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage documentation and support activities for hosted applications in diverse environments: Managed Services (MS), Managed Services Lite (MSL), Co-Location (Colo), Cloud, and Secondary Data Center (SDC).

  • Act as liaison and service coordinator between internal departments and external stakeholders.

  • Conduct and document technical requirement-gathering meetings for integration and migration projects.

  • Create and maintain technical contact lists, service proposals, and cost models for hardware, software, and service requirements.

  • Verify compliance with internal IT standards, security policies, and best practices.

  • Use ServiceNow to manage service requests and technical change management activities.

  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, status updates, and operational metrics.

  • Lead and support process improvement initiatives to optimize the service request lifecycle.

  • Provide consultative support on technical and cost planning for future IT budgets.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT environment or similar technical role.

  • Proficiency with hosted infrastructure services (MS, MSL, Colo, Cloud, SDC).

  • Strong understanding of server/storage sizing, licensing, and infrastructure planning.

  • Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.

  • Ability to create comprehensive solution proposals and cost models.

  • Skilled in project documentation, reporting, and status tracking.

  • Proven experience in requirements gathering, customer engagement, and technical consultations.

  • Experience managing change requests in enterprise environments.

  • Familiarity with enterprise IT policies, risk assessment, and compliance tracking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL v4 Certification highly preferred.

  • Experience in public sector or enterprise IT environments.
