Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Pediatric Emergency Department (Evening/Night Shift)
Location: Syracuse or Ithaca, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Pay Rate: $40 - $45/hour
Shift: Evening/Night (includes every other weekend and some holidays)

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to support the Pediatric Emergency Department in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This is an excellent opportunity for LPNs with pediatric and emergency care experience to provide high-quality care and make a direct impact on young patients' health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care in an acute pediatric emergency setting with minimal supervision

  • Perform IV insertions and phlebotomy procedures efficiently

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examination

  • Take and record vital signs; assist during exams and procedures

  • Administer injections and support nursing staff during care delivery

  • Handle administrative functions including reception, appointment scheduling, chart preparation, and filing

  • Obtain insurance authorizations and coordinate referrals with primary care providers

  • Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas in a clean, organized state

  • Follow nursing care plans and report patient responses to the supervising nurse

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State LPN license

  • CPR certification (active or ability to obtain)

  • At least 1 year of clinical experience; inpatient experience preferred

  • Proficient in IV insertion and phlebotomy

  • Familiarity with EMR systems; eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience is a plus

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work evenings, nights, alternate weekends, and some holidays
