Overview

A leading public sector initiative in Sacramento, CA is undergoing a large-scale Data Analytics and Business Intelligence (BI) transformation, and is seeking an experienced Data Integration Developer. This role focuses on modernizing BI platforms, enhancing data integration processes, and supporting enterprise-scale analytics solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL development, data warehousing, and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), as well as experience with DevOps-driven modernization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Integration & BI Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data integration and BI solutions

  • Build and optimize dimensional data models (e.g., star schemas) and ETL pipelines using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)

  • Conduct thorough testing and validation to ensure data accuracy and alignment with business needs

  • Maintain and enhance operational data stores and enterprise data warehouses

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in large-scale ETL jobs (3,000+ processes)

  • Create and manage self-service data marts for integration with analytics dashboards

2. BI Platform Modernization & Automation

  • Modernize the current BI platform with automation and DevOps integration

  • Develop reusable frameworks for automation and task orchestration

  • Write Java-based connectors and Groovy scripts for cloud and on-premise integration

  • Build proof-of-concept solutions for optimized data integration workflows

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and system monitoring solutions

3. Knowledge Transfer & Documentation

  • Continuously document technical designs, processes, and procedures

  • Participate in regular knowledge transfer sessions with internal teams

  • Maintain comprehensive records including test cases, incident logs, and status reports in shared repositories

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in ETL development and data integration for enterprise data warehouses or data marts

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle Database 19c or equivalent

  • Proven success in at least two BI/analytics projects, including one with a budget exceeding $1M

  • Strong expertise in PL/SQL, SQL, and dimensional modeling

  • Deep understanding of BI best practices, DevOps methodologies, and performance tuning

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

  • Experience in industries such as pensions, health insurance, customer service, or finance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working on public sector or large enterprise data initiatives

  • Knowledge of hybrid data environments, cloud integration, and BI modernization strategies

  • Proficiency in Java and Groovy for custom scripting and automation
