Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a reliable and compassionate Patient Care Associate (PCA) to support daily clinical operations within a busy healthcare setting. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through collaboration with registered nurses and clinical staff. The position is ideal for candidates with prior healthcare experience, particularly in Pre-op or PACU, and requires flexibility to float to nearby locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure and document vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output).

  • Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, toileting, and ambulation.

  • Collect patient specimens, perform EKGs, venipuncture, and assist with basic procedures.

  • Support dietary functions by delivering meals, assisting with tray setup, and reporting dietary issues.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment for patients and staff.

  • Perform one-to-one or close observation of patients with safety or behavioral concerns.

  • Comply with infection control and isolation protocols under RN supervision.

  • Provide prompt responses to patient call systems and maintain communication logs.

  • Transport patients and specimens, operate the pneumatic tube system, and update communication boards.

  • Perform environmental tasks including bed making, trash removal, and emergency cleanups.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Certification: AHA HeartSaver or BLS certification required

  • Experience: 3–9 months of healthcare experience (Pre-op or PACU experience)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to adapt to various clinical settings and prioritize tasks effectively
