Job Title: Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health
Duration: 13+ Weeks Contract (Extendable)
Work Location: Saratoga Springs, NY 12866
Shift: Day Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | 3 Days/Week | 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments (e.g., suicide risk, aggression, mood disorders) and accurately document findings using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.

• Administer and monitor psychotropic medications including antipsychotics and mood stabilizers, while tracking for adverse effects such as extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) or sedation.

• Utilize de-escalation strategies such as CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) to manage behavioral crises and maintain a safe environment.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists to create and implement individualized patient care plans.

• Engage in therapeutic communication with patients experiencing mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and substance use disorders.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in inpatient behavioral health or psychiatric units.

• Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and safe application of restraint/seclusion protocols.

Technical Skills:

• Experience with EHR systems including Epic and Meditech for clinical documentation.

• Ability to support telepsychiatry services for virtual psychiatric consultations.

Compensation:

• Weekly Pay Range: $1900 – $2133

Certifications & Licensure:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of New York (NY)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
