Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Associate Pension Analyst to join our team. Under the supervision of the department manager, this role is responsible for processing pension benefits and refunds, preparing benefit calculations, and maintaining accurate member records upon notification of a death. This position is ideal for professionals who possess strong mathematical and customer service skills and are looking to gain experience in pension administration within a collaborative and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process refund applications and supporting documentation.

  • Update member status in system records upon death notifications.

  • Calculate and issue pension benefits and refunds in compliance with policy.

  • Conduct peer review of documentation and eligibility reports.

  • Review disability applications and assess documentation for completeness.

  • Perform beneficiary research and distribute death benefit applications.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all returned documentation.

  • Communicate with members and beneficiaries to gather necessary information.

  • Analyze legal documents including trusts, estates, and powers of attorney.

  • Follow all plan provisions and internal policies for benefits processing.

  • Reprint and distribute member statements as requested.

  • Support special projects and perform other assigned duties as needed.
