Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Inpatient Registered Dietitian to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and perform comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients across the lifespan, including infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The successful candidate will be well-versed in malnutrition diagnosis and intervention and will work collaboratively with the medical team to support patient recovery and improve health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct nutrition assessments and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy for inpatient populations.

  • Utilize the Malnutrition Screening Tool to identify and diagnose malnutrition.

  • Implement and modify nutrition interventions including enteral and parenteral nutrition support.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutritional care plans.

  • Utilize protocols to initiate or adjust orders for nutrition-related therapies and medications.

  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during patient care rounds and departmental meetings.

  • Provide nutrition education and counseling as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Registered Dietitian (RD) credential with the Commission on Dietetic Registration

  • Required: Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN) in New York State

  • Preferred: CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician) certification

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in inpatient and/or critical care nutrition strongly preferred

  • Strong knowledge of enteral/parenteral nutrition, therapeutic diets, and clinical protocols

  • Excellent documentation, communication, and critical thinking skills
