The Diagnostic Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic radiologic procedures in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and radiation safety guidelines. This role supports accurate diagnosis and treatment while ensuring patient safety and comfort during all phases of imaging.
Perform routine and emergency diagnostic X-ray procedures for all patient populations
Operate digital and portable radiographic equipment, including in OR, ER, and bedside settings
Adhere to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles and radiation protection standards
Accurately position patients and select appropriate technical factors to obtain optimal imaging results
Verify orders and document procedures accurately in the EMR and PACS
Maintain appropriate infection control practices and uphold patient confidentiality
Ensure imaging equipment is properly maintained and assist with troubleshooting when necessary
Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers
Participate in quality assurance programs and continuing education
ARRT certification in Radiography (R)
Massachusetts state Radiologic Technologist license
Current BLS certification
Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
Strong knowledge of radiologic anatomy, positioning, and imaging protocols
Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and professionalism in a team-based environment
