Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (Local Only)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
Contract Type: Local Contract Only (Travelers will not be considered)
Pay Rate: $65/hr. to $72/hr.
Job Summary:
A reputable healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY is seeking a qualified and experienced Respiratory Therapist for a night shift local contract. This role is ideal for professionals with a minimum of two years of recent acute care experience. The position requires flexibility, strong clinical competency, and the ability to deliver high-quality respiratory care with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapies
Initiate, monitor, and manage oxygen therapy
Set up and manage continuous ventilation in collaboration with physicians
Perform CPR when necessary
Conduct pulmonary function testing (PFTs)
Obtain arterial blood gas samples via radial arterial puncture
Provide safe, effective, and independent respiratory care services
Accurately document patient care and communicate with the interdisciplinary care team
Qualifications:
Education: Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Respiratory Therapy
Licensure: Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license and registration
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
Pediatric experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Must successfully complete a pre-employment health screening
