Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM), scheduled for six shifts over a two-week period. Includes every third weekend; no on-call required.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Adult Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in a high-acuity critical care setting. This role is ideal for an experienced RN who thrives in fast-paced environments and is committed to delivering excellent post-surgical care.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care during the post-anesthesia recovery period in a critical care setting
Perform detailed nursing assessments and respond effectively to changes in patient condition
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Accurately document patient information using EPIC Electronic Medical Records
Deliver care in alignment with trauma-level standards and best practices in acute care nursing
Requirements:
Active and unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse license
Current BLS certification (with willingness to recertify if needed)
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an acute care hospital of comparable size or higher acuity
Prior experience in a Level 1 trauma center strongly preferred
Familiarity with EPIC EMR is highly desirable
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
