Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Emergency Department (ED)
Location: Edison, NJ
Duration: 13-week assignment
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Every Other Weekend Required, Holidays As Needed
Hours: 36 hours/week | 8 hours/day | 5 days/week
Float Requirements: May float within department to ED Adult, Pediatric, and Intermediate Care Unit (IMC)
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced Pediatric Emergency Department. The ideal candidate must be prepared to deliver expert, compassionate care in high-pressure scenarios, managing a wide spectrum of pediatric emergencies. This role involves working with high patient acuity and a potential daily ED volume of up to 80 patients.
Emergency Department nurses in this position must be confident in trauma care, capable of rapid assessment and prioritization of physical and mental health conditions, and committed to maintaining excellent communication with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Deliver expert nursing care in a dynamic Pediatric ED setting.
Accurately assess incoming pediatric patients and prioritize based on acuity.
Provide immediate response and treatment to various trauma and emergency conditions.
Develop and implement effective nursing care plans based on clinical knowledge and assessments.
Communicate clearly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Adhere to established protocols while remaining adaptable in rapidly evolving situations.
Float as needed to ED Adult and IMC areas within the department.
Minimum 18 months of recent experience in a Pediatric Emergency Department (within the last 6 months).
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Proven ability to function effectively in a high-volume, high-acuity emergency setting.
Required Education:
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
Preferred Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required Licensure & Certifications:
Current NJ Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Compact License
BLS – American Heart Association
ACLS – American Heart Association
PALS – American Heart Association
NIHSS – Stroke Certification
Preferred Certifications:
NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program (AHA)
ENPC – Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course
