Job Summary:

We are seeking Registered Nurses to support school-organized student trips across New Jersey. Nurses will provide care for students ranging from 1st to 12th grade during field trips. This is a flexible, per diem opportunity where you can select the trips and days that fit your availability. Each trip typically requires 3–4 hours of on-site coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care and first aid during school-sponsored trips.

  • Assess and manage student illnesses, injuries, and emergencies.

  • Administer medications and treatments per medical orders and school policies.

  • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions.

  • Monitor students with special health needs and collaborate with families, teachers, and healthcare providers.

  • Educate students and staff on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with state regulations.

  • Respond to emergencies, including CPR and AED administration if needed.

  • Support immunization compliance and public health initiatives as necessary.

  • Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and healthcare teams to support student wellness.

Requirements:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (required).

  • Strong assessment, emergency response, and communication skills.

  • Experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or community health (preferred but not required).

  • Ability to work independently during trips and respond confidently to student health needs.
