Schedule: Monday–Friday (Day Shifts: 8 AM–4 PM / 9 AM–5 PM / 10 AM–6 PM)
Hours/Week: 37.5 | No nights or weekends

About the Role:

A well-established outpatient office in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant for a full-time, temporary assignment. This position plays a key role in supporting both patient care and clinical operations as part of a collaborative healthcare team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare providers.

  • Coordinate daily workflow and assist with physician team operations.

  • Perform patient intake, take vital signs, collect specimens, and assist with procedures and exams.

  • Handle clerical duties such as EMR documentation, record management, and scheduling.

  • Enter orders and prescription refills into the EMR system (subject to physician approval).

  • Maintain and restock medical supplies as needed.

  • Ensure exam rooms and instruments are cleaned and sterilized according to safety protocols.

  • Monitor and update logs for medications, equipment, and crash cart supplies.

  • Properly dispose of expired materials in accordance with policy.

  • Adhere to infection control and safety procedures, including appropriate use of PPE.


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).

  • Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution (required).

  • 2–3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic computer literacy and experience with EMR systems (preferred).

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology.

  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

  • Professional and courteous phone etiquette.
