Job Title: Radiation Therapist
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract, with potential to extend)
Shift: Full-Time, 8-hour day shifts (Monday – Friday)


Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join the oncology care team at a reputable facility in Syracuse, NY. The Radiation Therapist will deliver high-quality, safe, and precise therapeutic radiation treatments to oncology patients following the prescription and guidance of a Radiation Oncologist.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts using state-of-the-art equipment such as linear accelerators.

  • Verify patient identity, review prescriptions, and perform safety checks prior to treatment.

  • Position patients correctly and ensure comfort and reproducibility of treatment setup.

  • Maintain daily treatment records and monitor patient responses to therapy.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, providing reassurance and education about procedures.

  • Collaborate closely with dosimetrists, physicists, and radiation oncologists for treatment planning and implementation.

  • Participate in routine machine QA and safety checks as directed.

  • Adhere to all departmental policies, safety regulations, and infection control standards.


Requirements:

  • Current ARRT (T) certification in Radiation Therapy

  • Current NYS Radiation Therapy License (or ability to obtain prior to start)

  • BLS (AHA) required

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Radiation Therapist in an acute care or outpatient setting

  • Strong technical skills and proficiency with treatment planning systems and linear accelerators (e.g., Varian, Elekta)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using ARIA, Eclipse, or MOSAIQ systems

  • Familiarity with IMRT, IGRT, and SRS/SBRT protocols

  • Oncology center or hospital-based experience preferred

  • Compassionate demeanor and excellent patient care skills
