Schedule:
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Days: 3x12 hour shifts/week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
On-Call: Not required
Float Requirement: Yes, to other Med Surg/Tele units, including COVID unit
The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for evaluating patients, assisting physicians with patient care, and delivering comprehensive nursing interventions. This role will include developing and coordinating individualized care plans, providing patient-centered care, and advocating for evidence-based practices in a Med Surg/Tele setting. The RN will work within a neuro stroke unit, supporting patients with complex needs.
Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient assessments and individual needs.
Perform ongoing assessments, determine patient priorities, and adjust care plans accordingly.
Coordinate and develop individualized plans of care for patients based on assessments, physician diagnoses, and functional health frameworks.
Carry out therapeutic nursing interventions, such as medication administration, monitoring vital signs, and responding to patient needs.
Provide quality care in alignment with professional nursing practices and evidence-based standards.
Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with standards.
Advocate for and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care.
Collaborate with healthcare teams and assist with various patient care needs, ensuring effective communication and positive patient outcomes.
Float to other Med Surg/Tele units as required, including the COVID unit.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Med Surg/Tele unit in an acute care hospital setting.
Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
Licensure:
NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License or multi-state compact license.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Certifications:
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale).
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
Telemetry competency.
