The CT Scan Technologist is responsible for performing computed tomography (CT) procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images and assist with interventional and therapeutic procedures. This role ensures the highest level of patient care and safety during imaging and contrast administration, while supporting accurate and timely radiological interpretation.
Perform complex CT procedures and ensure quality imaging standards.
Obtain and review patient clinical history, ensuring it is properly documented and uploaded into PACS.
Administer and document contrast media, following appropriate screening and protocols.
Verify exam appropriateness; communicate with radiologists or referring physicians when necessary.
Coordinate insurance authorization and work with finance for re-verification when needed.
Import and manage outside study CDs and schedule within EPIC for radiologist review.
Provide requested image copies to patients and referring providers.
Evaluate images via PACS to ensure diagnostic quality and proper labeling.
Prepare patients for scans, including shielding, immobilization, and patient education.
Perform and manage IV insertion, patency, and contrast injection.
Monitor patients for adverse reactions during exams and respond appropriately.
Ensure compliance with departmental protocols, safety standards, and organizational competencies.
Participate in required weekend, holiday, and overtime shifts as scheduled.
Lift, push, and pull according to physical job demands (up to 50 lbs).
Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients of all backgrounds and needs.
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
High school diploma or equivalent.
NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.
ARRT certification (R).
American Heart Association BLS Certification (within 3 months of hire).
Must obtain ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire.
Familiarity with PACS and Epic or similar HIS/RIS systems.
Strong knowledge of human anatomy, positioning, and CT hardware/software.
ARRT (CT) certification.
Minimum six months of CT experience.
Experience with Epic and hospital imaging systems.
