Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room

Location: Neptune, NJ 
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (3x12hr shifts)
Schedule: 36 hours/week | Every Other Weekend | Holiday Coverage Required | On-Call After 90 Days | Float to Same Day Surgery as Needed

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time contract position in Neptune, NJ. This role is essential in providing high-quality nursing care to veteran patients undergoing surgical procedures. The RN will assess patient needs, coordinate interdisciplinary care plans, deliver clinical interventions, and evaluate patient responses throughout the surgical process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based perioperative nursing care using the nursing process.

  • Maintain accurate documentation reflecting assessment, interventions, and patient responses.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to formulate and implement individualized care plans.

  • Assign and supervise non-nursing direct care providers in the OR setting.

  • Maintain a sterile and organized environment and comply with all infection prevention and control standards.

  • Effectively communicate with patients, families, and surgical teams to support patient-centered care.

  • Participate in required on-call rotations and float to same-day surgery as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)

  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Required:

    • Active New Jersey RN license or valid multi-state compact license

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)

  • Preferred:

    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA

    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – AHA

Required Experience:

  • Proven clinical knowledge and ability to formulate and implement individualized nursing care plans.

  • Skilled in delivering a wide range of professional nursing services in a surgical setting.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and staff.
