Job Title: Senior QA Performance Engineer

Location: Remote (Based in NY)
Duration: 1 Year (Contract)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Performance Engineer to lead performance testing initiatives for enterprise-level applications. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with performance testing tools like LoadRunner, a strong understanding of cloud-based architectures (Azure and/or AWS), and the ability to collaborate across development, QA, and business teams.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with architects and developers to identify performance bottlenecks in enterprise applications.

• Work with business analysts and QA teams to define key workflows and test cases for performance testing.

• Establish and enforce performance standards and policies across teams.

• Estimate expected application load and define performance objectives.

• Select appropriate performance testing tools in coordination with test managers.

• Develop and execute performance test scripts for various scenarios including stress, stability, and breakpoint testing.

• Define monitoring points and coordinate with infrastructure teams to support test execution.

• Prepare load test scenarios with specific user concurrency and ramp-up parameters.

• Analyze test results, document findings, and recommend solutions for performance improvements.

• Provide go-live performance sign-off when test criteria are met.

• Contribute to performance testing best practices and standards for the organization.

• Support test environments and reproduce production performance issues in QA/staging.

• Assist with lab maintenance and support of QA test tools and infrastructure.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance.

• 7+ years in performance testing using MicroFocus/OpenText Performance Center or LoadRunner.

• 3+ years hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms.

• Proficient in API performance concepts, including rate limiting and token-based security.

• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or equivalent RDBMS/NoSQL databases.

• Skilled in using Git, Azure DevOps Pipelines, or similar CI/CD tools.

• Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.

• Strong technical documentation and reporting capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Azure App Services, Logic Apps, Blob Storage, Data Lake, etc.

• Familiarity with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).

• Experience using Azure Monitoring for performance and telemetry tracking.
