Job Title: Registered Nurse – Supervisor
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Shift: 12-Hour Night Shifts | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM | Includes Every Other Weekend
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Certifications Required: Active RN License, BLS (American Heart Association)

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor to oversee nursing operations during night shifts in a skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will lead and support the nursing team, ensure high standards of care, and contribute to the smooth operation of clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise nursing staff, conduct evaluations, and provide coaching or disciplinary action as needed

  • Assist with and oversee resident admissions and discharges

  • Conduct regular rounds to assess care delivery and promptly address resident needs

  • Deliver direct patient care and perform complex nursing procedures when required

  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for staff

  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and adjust as necessary to meet patient needs

  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new nursing personnel

  • Assist with planning and delivery of staff in-service training

  • Conduct quality assurance audits and contribute to policy and procedure development

  • Manage and respond to emergency situations, escalating as needed according to facility policy

  • Maintain necessary inventory of medical supplies, medications, and equipment during off-hours

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Expertise in professional nursing practices within a skilled nursing environment

  • Strong knowledge of gerontological nursing and the aging process

  • Ability to assess and respond to the evolving care needs of elderly residents

  • Familiarity with community resources and healthcare systems supporting resident care

  • Proficiency in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans

  • Understanding of pharmacology and safe medication administration

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and VA regulations governing skilled nursing practices

  • Effective leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor and guide nursing teams
