Job Title: Epidemiologist
Location: Albany, NY
Work Schedule: 40 Hours/Week (37.5 excluding lunch)
Telecommute: Up to 50% remote work allowed, per agency policy
Education Requirement: Master’s Degree in Public Health or related field (Doctoral or medical degree preferred for some positions)
Pay Rate: $62/hour
We are seeking a skilled and analytical Epidemiologist to join a dynamic public health team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for investigating patterns and causes of diseases and injuries, analyzing data, and developing strategies to improve health outcomes and prevent future outbreaks.
Design, conduct, and analyze epidemiological studies on various public health concerns.
Collect, manage, and interpret health-related data using statistical tools.
Monitor disease trends and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
Develop and evaluate public health programs and policies.
Collaborate with biostatisticians, healthcare providers, and public health professionals.
Prepare scientific reports, technical papers, and presentations.
Participate in outbreak investigations and provide expertise during emergency responses.
Stay informed on emerging public health threats and evolving best practices.
Education:
Master’s degree or higher in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a closely related field.
Experience:
2–5+ years in applied epidemiology or public health research.
Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS).
Experience working with large datasets and public health surveillance systems.
Skills:
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Knowledge of public health ethics and confidentiality regulations.
Ph.D. in Epidemiology or a related discipline.
Experience in infectious disease modeling or chronic disease surveillance.
Familiarity with GIS tools and spatial data analysis.
