Contract Duration: 3+ Months | Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours Guaranteed: 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $21–$25 per hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and certified Medical Assistant III for a cardiology clinic in St. Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills including EKGs, phlebotomy, and patient care coordination. This position offers a full-time schedule with potential for contract-to-hire based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform EKGs and obtain patient vital signs

  • Update patient medication records

  • Support examinations, procedures, and lab tests

  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure necessary charts and documents are ready

  • Administer non-narcotic medications, vaccines, and injections as directed

  • Manage patient flow and assist with phone and appointment coordination

  • Support care coordination including follow-ups and test result calls

  • Maintain and stock medical supplies and ensure equipment meets compliance

  • Participate in onboarding training (HIPAA, medical terminology, etc.)

  • Document accurately in EMR and complete all required paperwork

  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and all regulatory compliance standards

Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant Certification (from NHA, AAMA, or AMT; in-person proctored exams only)

  • BLS Certification (must include a skills assessment component)

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant

  • Previous cardiology experience with strong EKG skills

  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology

  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

  • Strong communication, organizational, and patient service skills

Preferred:

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program

  • Supervisory or team leadership experience is a plus
