Registered Nurse (Vent & Trach Trained)

Location: Wayne, NJ 07470
Pay Rate: $60 - $61/Hour
Shift: Afternoon (3 PM - 11 PM)
Department: Rehab

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain tracheostomy tubes, ensuring airway patency and proper suctioning.
• Assess and adjust ventilator settings, responding to alarms and patient needs.
• Perform lung assessments, monitor oxygen levels, and recognize respiratory distress.
• Conduct endotracheal and tracheal suctioning as needed.
• Educate patients and caregivers on ventilator and tracheostomy management.
• Administer medications, including nebulizers and bronchodilators, while monitoring for side effects.
• Provide tracheostomy stoma care to prevent infections and complications.
• Assist with enteral feeding via PEG tubes or other methods.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physical therapists, and physicians to adjust care plans.
• Respond to airway emergencies, including accidental decannulation and ventilator failure.

Requirements:

• RN License (New Jersey State)
• AHA BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with ventilator and tracheostomy patients
