Nuclear Imaging Technologist - NYCRAD

Job Title: Nuclear Imaging Technologist

Duties:

1. Performs various nuclear imaging procedures, including SPECT and PET scans, under the guidance of physicians.
2. Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients based on medical orders and ensures correct dosages.
3. Ensures that all imaging and patient care areas adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines.
4. Operates and maintains imaging equipment to ensure it is in good working order for each scan.
5. Ensures all images meet diagnostic quality standards before sending them to the radiologist.
6. Monitors the patient’s condition during the procedure and ensures their comfort and safety.
7. Prepares and maintains accurate patient documentation, including procedure notes and radiopharmaceutical use.
8. Troubleshoots and resolves any equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
9. Works closely with other healthcare staff to ensure comprehensive patient care and imaging.
10. Participates in quality control activities and training to maintain high standards of practice.

Skills:

• Expertise in nuclear imaging procedures, including preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
• Strong understanding of radiation safety practices and equipment maintenance.

Education & Certifications:

• Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• ARRT or NMTCB certification required.
• NYS Nuclear Medicine license required.
• BLS certification.

Pay Range:

• Weekly: $3,300 - $3,900
