Nuclear Medicine Technologist Specialist - NYCRAD

Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Specialist

Duties:

1. Performs diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures by operating specialized imaging equipment and ensuring the accuracy of scans.
2. Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients and prepares them for imaging procedures.
3. Prepares and documents radiopharmaceutical dosages, ensuring they align with prescribed guidelines.
4. Coordinates patient care with physicians and other healthcare staff to ensure effective treatment planning.
5. Ensures all imaging equipment is operating efficiently and troubleshoots any issues promptly.
6. Works in compliance with all radiation safety regulations and follows the ALARA principle.
7. Prepares and maintains patient records and imaging results in the hospital’s data management system.
8. Educates patients on nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring clear communication and comfort.
9. Conducts regular quality control checks on imaging equipment and reports malfunctions to supervisors.
10. Participates in department meetings and training programs to stay current on advances in nuclear medicine technology.

Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in nuclear medicine procedures.
• Strong technical skills in operating and maintaining nuclear medicine equipment.

Education & Certifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• Certification through ARRT or NMTCB.
• New York State license in Nuclear Medicine required.
• BLS certification preferred.

Pay Range:

• Weekly: $3,500 - $4,100
