Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Imaging Technologist

Duties:

  1. Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients and operates imaging equipment to produce diagnostic nuclear scans.
  2. Follows safety and infection control procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  3. Prepares and checks radiopharmaceuticals to ensure correct dosages for each procedure.
  4. Collaborates with physicians to interpret diagnostic images and provide accurate results for patient care.
  5. Ensures all equipment is calibrated and functioning properly before each patient procedure.
  6. Documents all patient and imaging information into the hospital’s records system.
  7. Provides patient education on procedures, addressing any concerns or questions before the scan.
  8. Troubleshoots any issues with imaging equipment and ensures timely repairs are made.
  9. Works closely with the radiology team to ensure procedures are performed according to departmental standards.
  10. Prepares the imaging area and maintains adequate stock of radiopharmaceuticals and supplies.

Skills:

  • Proficient in operating gamma cameras, PET scanners, and other nuclear imaging equipment.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and radiopharmaceutical handling.

Education & Certifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • ARRT or NMTCB certification required.
  • NYS license required for Nuclear Medicine.
  • BLS certification preferred.

Pay Range:

  • Weekly: $3,400 - $4,000
