Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Duties:
Operates nuclear imaging equipment to perform diagnostic scans for patients, ensuring proper positioning and safety throughout the procedure.
Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients according to physician orders and safety protocols.
Assesses patient history and ensures all required documentation is completed before procedures.
Troubleshoots and maintains nuclear imaging equipment to ensure it is functioning optimally.
Adheres to radiation safety standards and ensures compliance with ALARA guidelines during all procedures.
Prepares and maintains accurate records of procedures, including patient details, imaging results, and radiopharmaceutical use.
Educates patients about the nuclear medicine procedures and provides necessary instructions before, during, and after exams.
Operates and monitors equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners to capture and analyze images.
Monitors the condition of radiopharmaceuticals to ensure proper concentration and accuracy in procedures.
Assists physicians during imaging-guided procedures and coordinates with other healthcare staff to provide optimal care.
Skills:
Minimum of 1 year experience in Nuclear Medicine.
Expertise in operating nuclear scanning equipment and preparing radiopharmaceuticals.
Strong understanding of radiation safety practices.
Education & Certifications:
Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program or equivalent.
