Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Location: Elmhurst, NY 11373
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
Duration: Contract
Pay Rate: $75 - $80 per hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role focuses on providing exceptional post-operative care, ensuring patient safety and comfort during recovery from anesthesia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical-surgical nursing, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring stability and comfort.

• Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation monitoring with precision.

• Provide effective post-operative care and pain management strategies.

• Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgical teams to facilitate smooth recovery.

• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with hospital protocols.

• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Active New York State RN License (Primary Source Verification).

• AHA BLS Certification (American Heart Association).

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in:

  • Medical/Surgical nursing

  • IV insertion and phlebotomy

  • Conscious sedation

Preferred:

• Previous experience in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or Critical Care setting.

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
