Title: MRI Technologist – Sundays Only
Location: New York, NY 10029
Duration: 13-Week Contract (Extendable)
Shift: Sundays Only, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: $69/hour

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (HSD)

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience operating CT scanners

  • Ability to scan 10-12 patients per day

Certifications Required:

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)

  • NY Radiology Tech License

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform MRI imaging procedures while operating and preparing specialized imaging equipment.

  2. Assist, prepare, and position patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

  3. Apply technical judgment to ensure studies meet diagnostic standards based on written protocols.

  4. Educate patients about the imaging procedure, including its purpose, process, and any necessary instructions.

  5. Review patient safety questionnaires and follow MRI safety precautions before scanning.

  6. Ensure safe patient transition between MRI zones (Zone 2 to Zone 3).

  7. Assist in administering contrast media and properly load power injectors under aseptic technique.

  8. Position patients and associated coils for optimal imaging results.

  9. Scan and document patient-related information accurately.

  10. Ensure all images are properly labeled according to department SOPs.

  11. Assist physicians during procedures as needed.

  12. Evaluate radiographs for quality and ensure timely PACS transmission.

  13. Maintain a clean and organized radiology room and equipment at the start and end of each shift.

  14. Monitor and restock necessary supplies and accessories for safe operations.

  15. Record and track patient data accurately in IDX (Radiology Information System).

  16. Schedule exams and ensure all performed studies are completed in IDX in a timely manner.

  17. Report any equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.

  18. Follow strict infection control policies to prevent the spread of infections.
