Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care and assisting healthcare providers in a fast-paced medical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture, EKGs, and other clinical procedures.

  • Organize patient flow, escort patients to exam rooms, and assist with mobility and dressing.

  • Collect and process specimens, conduct point-of-care testing, and prepare exam rooms.

  • Assist physicians with procedures, obtain vital signs, and relay patient instructions.

  • Handle clerical tasks, including managing medical records, obtaining reports, and completing forms.

  • Enter orders into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and assist with prescription refill requests.

  • Maintain and restock medical supplies, ensuring compliance with sterilization and infection control policies.

  • Monitor expiration dates of medications and medical supplies, disposing of items per policy.

  • Ensure a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to medical safety standards.

  • May be responsible for phlebotomy duties, scheduling appointments, updating insurance information, and verifying pre-certifications as needed.

  • Perform additional administrative or clinical duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) – Mandatory

  • National certification as a Medical Assistant – Mandatory

  • High School Diploma/GED with completion of an approved Medical Assistant certificate program.

  • Medical Assistant certification from an accredited school.

  • Proficiency in EPIC EMR system preferred.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and infection control procedures.

  • Experience in phlebotomy and venipuncture preferred.
