Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology to join our team. The RN will provide specialized care to oncology patients, focusing on leukemia and lymphoma in an acute inpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in oncology nursing, a strong understanding of evidence-based care, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for oncology patients.
Identify patient needs and prioritize care through comprehensive assessments.
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient treatment plans.
Document care based on clinical standards, patient acuity, and best practices.
Administer and monitor chemotherapy treatments in accordance with safety protocols (if certified).
Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to provide high-quality care.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication regimens, and symptom management.
Advocate for evidence-based practice standards and support innovative care delivery.
Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients throughout their treatment journey.
Float to similar units as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of acute inpatient oncology experience, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience with telemetry monitoring.
Chemotherapy administration experience (if certified).
Education Requirements:
Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN).
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Required Certifications & Licensure:
Active RN license in New Jersey or a multi-state compact license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
Telemetry certification.
Chemotherapy certification (ONS-certified).
Work Schedule:
Hours Per Week: 36 hours
Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
Days Per Week: 3 shifts per week
