Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department (ED) team. Our ED nurses must be prepared to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to assess, prioritize, and manage the care of patients with a variety of medical conditions, including trauma, stroke, sepsis, and STEMI cases.
Responsibilities:
Provide immediate and effective nursing care to patients in emergency situations.
Assess, triage, and prioritize patient care based on acuity levels.
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with established protocols.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatment and make necessary adjustments.
Provide education and support to patients and their families.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure patient and staff well-being.
Float within the department as needed, including ED Adult, Pediatrics, and IMC.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience.
Strong experience managing Stroke, Sepsis, and STEMI patients.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment, with an ED volume of up to 220 patients per day.
Experience handling up to 20 stroke patients per shift.
Education & Certifications:
Active NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA certified.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – AHA certified.
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA certified.
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
CEU Contact Stroke (4 Hours).
Telemetry competency.
Schedule & Additional Information:
13-week assignment.
Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM.
36 hours per week (three 12-hour shifts).
