Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department (ED) team. Our ED nurses must be prepared to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to assess, prioritize, and manage the care of patients with a variety of medical conditions, including trauma, stroke, sepsis, and STEMI cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide immediate and effective nursing care to patients in emergency situations.

  • Assess, triage, and prioritize patient care based on acuity levels.

  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with established protocols.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.

  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatment and make necessary adjustments.

  • Provide education and support to patients and their families.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.

  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure patient and staff well-being.

  • Float within the department as needed, including ED Adult, Pediatrics, and IMC.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience.

  • Strong experience managing Stroke, Sepsis, and STEMI patients.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment, with an ED volume of up to 220 patients per day.

  • Experience handling up to 20 stroke patients per shift.

Education & Certifications:

  • Active NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA certified.

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – AHA certified.

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA certified.

  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.

  • CEU Contact Stroke (4 Hours).

  • Telemetry competency.

Schedule & Additional Information:

  • 13-week assignment.

  • Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM.

  • 36 hours per week (three 12-hour shifts).
